Whether you pray regularly or not, many of our congregation take the time to pray daily, not only for themselves and their families and friends but for others.
There are also practical things we can do for people in our local areas, for example when someone is recently bereaved, a friendly face, a chance to chat about ones loss, of maybe a gift of a meal to save that person having to cook; are often very welcome.
Quite often it is at times of crisis, that we turn to our faith for help and consolation. However many people with strong faith, don’t only pray at this time, they take the time to pray on a regular basis.
Our church is here to support you at these times, there are people to talk to, people who will pray with you and of course people who will pray for you. It may be an illness, or bereavement , or for a person you care about, here in Spain, or in your native country. Perhaps you met someone in the street who was the bearer of bad news, whatever the circumstance, however large or small, nothing is ignored.
If you look at the ‘Post section‘ there is a box for this purpose. you can put a name in the box provided, this can be published for all to see, or, if you don’t want the name or information published, clearly state that this is private information, we will then add this name and prayer to the list for our members prayers, you will receive a reply, assuring you that a response is taking place.
The other alternative is to contact Tim Rain (972 651 390) Who will be pleased to talk to you, pray with you while talking to you, or pray for you as well as passing your information on to the Fellowship Group. Or he will e-mail your request on to other Committee Members on our contact list.
If Tim is not available, call Penny Berlin (972 833 286) and she will pass your message on. Or e-mail us from the contacts list, Tim will then send your information out to the group mailing list.
We are in Gods hands, it is not for us to question his will, our prayers are often answered in ways we least expect. However, when any of us are in need of help, it is a great comfort to know that we are in the thoughts and prayers of others. So whether you have a strong faith or not, our community in The Costa Brava is there for you. to support you and befriend you whenever and however you require it.
With peace and love from the Community at St Stephen’s Church, Madremanya.

Gonçal I would like to make a prayer request for a work colleague and
friend Amanda who’s grandson Karter who was born too early, he seemed to get
better, but we just heard the devastating news he will not survive. I would
like to request prayers for Karter, and his loving family and mother Sarah.
Thank You.
Penny I recently asked for your prayers for my step daughter Kara, when she lost her baby girl at 22 weeks (due date was boxing day), she has received recent tests and was diagnosed with having cancerous cells, resulting in the need to remove her thyroid, after this she has to go through radio therapy and will not be able to go near her two small boys for number of weeks. Her first operation took place on Thursday 24th November, and the radio therapy is after Christmas. Her grandmother and her aunt died of cancer in the same part of the body, so our family are naturally nervous. Please pray for Kara and her husband and children, this will be a very difficult few months and I believe that with our prayers Kara will get through this traumatic time. Thank you.
Kara is about to undertake a very harsh radio therapy treatment, she will have to be away from her children for quite a few weeks as she will be radioactive and can’t touch them. We hope that this will eradicate the problem. Please continue to pray for her. Thank you
Tim Raine Would be very grateful for your prayers for his neighbour Howard who had a heart attack on Friday night back in the UK. Howard is the last person one would expect to suffer this, a thin active agile man, he should be released from hospital this week. Our prayers and thoughts are with you Howard.
Please pray for our new Chaplain – Due to the recession, money is short and it may take a lot longer to reach our goal. But we will get there in the end, with your prayers.
