The CBC or Costa Brava Chaplaincy was created so that we could gather funds for a full time chaplain. Currently there is a chaplain in Barcelona at St George’s church but nobody perminent in The Costa Brava. The CBC has been a great success over the past years and you can see by the pictures the type of events which have taken place.

However, Now we are much closer to having a full time chaplain the work must ‘up’ a level, to ensure ongoing finance to fund this massive project.

If you are looking at this for the first time, don’t be confused by the CBC and our normal church business.  The Costa Brava is on its own as a costa without it’s own chaplain. We are grateful for any help and you don’t have to be church-goer to get involved, or to come up with ideas however large or small to help us add to these funds.
We have created this site to resemble a village website rather than just the church. Everyone is welcome to be involved disregarding their religious beliefs. Although this person will bean Anglican priest, he or she  will also be an important member of the family of The Costa Brava.

I’m sure you are all aware of the times in you home country when a local vicar visits a bereaved person in their village, this person may not be a regular church goer, but a visit at this time can bring immense comfort.  We are well aware that not everyone is comfortable with church. This can often be due to bad experiences in childhood, or other personal reasons. This doesn’t mean that a church presence isn’t valuable.

When church is over on the last sunday of each month, we all gather for a shared lunch, if you feel you can offer something to our fundraising, but would prefer to meet outside the church, if you are not a church goer but would like to help, come and meet us in an informal atmosphere at the lunch, then contact (Penny Berlin or Jean Sartori) and come and join our bring and share lunch after the service (you don’t need to bring, but we’ll share). Penny and Jean will introduce you to the members of the church who are involved in fundraising activities.
